    Phuket experiences bad tourist season

    01/04/09 03:35
Hotel and bar owners in Phuket are probably experiencing the worst tourist high season it has ever experienced, something which is even worse than the year's low season. No, it is not primarily because of the global credit crunch (it may be a reason, however), but because the airport siege that befell Thailand lately.

Images of hundreds of tourists stuck in an international airport without any sign of help surely isn't enticing to prospective visitors.
